CANCELLED for 2020 due to COVID-19

Potatoes in Practice is the largest field-based potato event in the UK. The event brings together variety demonstrations, research and trade exhibits in one place making it an essential date in the potato industry calendar.

Due to Covid-19, Arable Scotland moved to a virtual format this year. There was a series of webinars, videos, podcasts, articles, press coverage and resources delivered online to continue to deliver the important messages and content of this key industry event. This year’s theme was ‘alternative crops’ covering novel crops, pulses, intercropping and oats.

The Treescapes2020 conference will now take place on the 30th June and 1st July 2021 at the University of Birmingham. This unique event brings together the research and woodland practitioner communities with the aim of capturing priorities and concerns of stakeholders.

‘Our Plants, Our future’ is a 2-day scientific conference at the Royal Society to mark the International Year of Plant Health 2020 and showcase the best of UK plant health science to a national and international audience of invited scientists and key influencers. Gerry Saddler (Scotland's Chief Plant Health Officer) and Ian Toth (Director of the Plant Health Centre) will present at the conference.

Scotland’s Plant Health Conference, a joint event between the Scottish Government, Scotland’s Plant Health Centre, SNH, HTA and Scottish Forestry, took place on Thursday 12th March 2020 at Novotel Edinburgh Park. Conference presentations are available on our events page.

The Association for Crop Protection in Northern Britain (CPNB) - Chaired by Fiona Burnett - Plant Health Centre Sector Lead for Agriculture - are please to announce the CPNB 2020 Conference entitled 'Environmental Management & Crop Production'.

As a kick off to the International Year of Plant Health 2020, Ian Toth will present a public lecture on Pests, Pathogens and Food Security at the Curious Minds event organised by the Perthshire Society of Natural Science and Culture Perth and Kinross at the Soutar Lecture Theatre, AK Bell Library, Perth PH2 8EP.
