Plant Health for Plant Nurseries
Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh

‘Plant Health for Plant Nurseries’ is a one-day information and training event on plant health and biosecurity to be held at Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh, Wednesday October 18th from 9.30- 4.30, organised by Forest Research and RBGE.
This event is aimed at plant nursery staff and will focus on raising awareness of symptoms of ill health in plants and those plant species at particularly high risk of carrying invasive pests and pathogens. An overview of the Plant Health Management Standard will be provided and nursery management practices that promote plant health will be discussed and demonstrated.
Forest Research scientists, supported by RBGE colleagues, will demonstrate the scientific evidence underpinning the need for nursery best practice based on recent research studies of Phytophthora pathogens in nurseries across the UK and overseas.
There will be a charge of £20 for the event which will comprise a morning session indoors and an afternoon session in the gardens and nursery, with a soup and filled-roll lunch and morning and afternoon refreshments provided.
Spaces are limited (first come-first served basis) so early registration is advised! Please use this link to register:
