Online Conference run by the Royal Entomological Society on "the role of insects in plant health"

The United Nations (UN) and the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) have both designated 2020 as the International Year of Plant Health; an opportunity to highlight the important role plants play in sustaining the planet. This year’s RES Scottish Regional Meeting will therefore focus on the role of insects in plant health.

The promotion of healthy plants and trees provides national and international benefits from sustainable food production and protecting wildlife and ecosystems to supporting rural economies and mitigating climate change impacts. This meeting is an opportune moment for scientists and stakeholders from across different sectors, including agriculture, forestry and horticulture, to discuss and share research on a broad range of entomological topics related to plant health, particularly issues affecting Scotland. This online event will also facilitate networking, knowledge exchange and future collaboration opportunities in order to help future proof Scottish plant health.

Deadline for abstracts: 07 October
