BSPP Plant Pandemic Reports

The British Society for Plant Pathology funded four awards for writing about the history of plant pandemics. The four final reports can be found on the BSPP website. The reports cover the history of the following diseases: Huanglongbing (greening disease) of citrus, caused by Candidatus species (bacterial pathogens); Pine wilt disease, caused by pine wilt nematodes vectored by certain longhorn beetles; Ug99 a strain of Puccinia graminis f.sp. tritici, a fungal pathogen that causes stem rust of wheat; and Ash Dieback caused by the fungal pathogen Hymenoscyphus fraxineus

The BSPP hopes to fund further reports later in 2021, so keep an eye on their website.
