Whether you are a potato grower, a nursery manager or a forester, our Key Principles to minimise risk to Plant Health outline important steps you can take to protect plant health in Scotland.

Scottish land infected with PCN is increasing, with less available for seed production every year.

Find out how the PHC helped make the case for a multi-million package of new funding to implement solutions to reduce the incidence of PCN and protect our land-base, and how the money will be spent.

Pesticide Withdrawals

Tractor Spraying

We have created a Summary Report for Pesticide Withdrawals in Agriculture for Potatoes in Practice:

Linuron and Diquat have been withdrawn in recent years; our reports "Potential Impacts Arising From Pesticide Withdrawals To Scotland’s Plant Health" and "Economic Impact Of Pesticide Withdrawals To Scotland, With Case Studies" explore the impacts this has had on industry.

What other pesticides are at risk of withdrawal, what alternatives remain and how might it affect you?

The Scottish Government’s IPM plan (2016) has been updated and is now hosted on the PHC website.

The new Scottish IPM Assessment Plan allows you to track improvements on your farm over time. It has been adopted by Quality Assurance schemes and Voluntary Initiatives.
