The Bacterial Plant Disease Coordination Team will introduce the objectives of the BPD program as well as providing an overview of the nine BPD projects with a ‘coffee-time’ webinar as part of the UK’s Plant Health Week.

In recognition of the ongoing COVID-19 situation, Fruit for the Future is going virtual for 2020, with updates about new research and varieties delivered through online videos over the course of a week, starting on Monday 24th August.

Potatoes in Practice is the largest field-based potato event in the UK. The event brings together variety demonstrations, research and trade exhibits in one place making it an essential date in the potato industry calendar.

Due to Covid-19, Arable Scotland moved to a virtual format this year. There was a series of webinars, videos, podcasts, articles, press coverage and resources delivered online to continue to deliver the important messages and content of this key industry event. This year’s theme was ‘alternative crops’ covering novel crops, pulses, intercropping and oats.

The Treescapes2020 conference will now take place on the 30th June and 1st July 2021 at the University of Birmingham. This unique event brings together the research and woodland practitioner communities with the aim of capturing priorities and concerns of stakeholders.

‘Our Plants, Our future’ is a 2-day scientific conference at the Royal Society to mark the International Year of Plant Health 2020 and showcase the best of UK plant health science to a national and international audience of invited scientists and key influencers. Gerry Saddler (Scotland's Chief Plant Health Officer) and Ian Toth (Director of the Plant Health Centre) will present at the conference.
